Tartous, SANA- A cargo ship carrying 8000 tons of soft wheat began to be unloaded Thursday at Tartous Port to meet local market needs, an official said.
The director of Tartous branch of the Syrian Grain Establishment, Engineer Mahmoud Shibli, told a SANA reporter that this is second ship carrying wheat to arrive at Tartous and needs approximately four days to be unloaded.
Shibli pointed out that these shipments of wheat aim at meeting the country’s growing needs and thus contribute to achieving sustainable food security.
